The CV Management Full-Service Search Strategy is a comprehensive suite of services supported by a rigorous project management process with fully defined scope, timelines, deliverables, and documentation. It is ideally suited for middle to senior level management roles and/or specialist professional roles, particularly when:

  • an individual's unique or even rare personal experience and competencies are critical to success in the role,
  • candidates may come from different industries and functional areas; and/or
  • the organization and/or opportunity needs to be marketed.

The more senior a role is, the fewer qualified candidates there are who can deliver that crucial perfect fit. All the more reason why a comprehensive strategy--one that includes candidate research, attraction, assessment and management--is so imperative to the proper fulfillment of these demanding roles.

I. SEARCH SERVICE DETAILS

Client Diagnostic Meetings

One of the first things we do is meet with hiring managers, peers and position incumbents to develop a complete understanding of the role mandate and its responsibilities. We develop and determine what an ideal candidate's background and experience should consist of, what specific competencies are required for success in the role and the overall state of the organization's culture.

Position Description

We use the research collected in the diagnostic meetings to create a Position Description and Candidate Specification document to present and optimally market the opportunity to potential candidates.

Candidate Sourcing Strategy

The next step is to put the research into motion by providing advice on the most effective method for building the best possible customized candidate pool. We identify the industries and organizations that such candidates might come from, create and post advertising copy if appropriate, conduct a thorough search of publicly available databases and information sources, and leverage your employee networks and referral programs.

Attraction, Screening, and Qualifying

We then proactively approach targeted potential candidates, present them with the opportunity, and ensure that they meet the preliminary requirements as detailed in the Position Description and Candidate Specification document. As a candidate network emerges, we leverage it to deepen our knowledge of who a potential candidate really is and where they come from, thereby creating an optimal candidate pool.

Interviewing and Assessment

We interview qualified potential candidates in person to further assess the level of their organizational "fit", competencies, experience, and skills.

Candidate Management

We acknowledge candidates' interest, and keep them informed and current throughout the search and recruitment process.

Candidate Presentation

Once potential candidates have been interviewed by CV Management, we present them to you, provide a Candidate Evaluation for each presented candidate, and discuss the results with you to help you select those candidates whom you wish to interview.

Reference Coordination

CV Management will conduct qualitative referencing and will also coordinate any fact-based reference checking with an independent third-party service.

Offer Negotiation

Our continuous involvement in the hiring process allows us to form a relationship with the candidate. This relationship often provides the best arena for presenting and negotiating the job offer to the candidate on your behalf.

II. FEE MODEL

Our retained fee is allocated in three installments and is based on a percentage of the candidate's first year base salary. Installment one is due upon search commencement. Installment two is billed either after the Candidate Selection meeting or once you have interviewed a Benchmark Candidate. Installment three is due upon the candidate accepting the offer.
